Winter is coming and followed but darkness which claims more and more hours for itself. So, I decided to bring the light back in the form of a lantern.
The lantern itself is made of wooden sticks, plastic and metal. The “lid’s” metallic arc has been twisted from a tin can’s lid. For painting I used regular acrylic paint.
Putting together the lantern was a bit problematic. The sticks in the corners are so thin it was very hard to make them stay in place while the glue dried. Keeping the plastic screens put also gave me some grey hair. In the end I managed to get everything together and made a little candle inside as well.
The result, in my opinion, is an adorable tiny lantern whose details bring the sense of authenticity to it. The base of the lantern is a 1cm*1cm square. Without the arc and the handle the lantern is 1,8cm tall. Including the handle it’s 2,5cm.
