One’s head tends to be somewhat foggy while being sick, and calculating maths or chemistry might be too much of a workout for one’s poor brain. This was my situation yesterday. Therefore instead of derivative, I opted to calculate half a centimetre seam allowances and gaps between stripes. As a result, these kitchen towels were born. The size of the towels is 5x5cm and I used an old sheet to make them. I drew the stripes every 0,5cm with textile markers and pastel coloured stabilos with the help of a set square.

The edges have been turned in twice to prevent fraying. Needless to say sewing a 2mm wide seam on a sewing machine is unbelievably frustrating as the machine likes to suck in a tiny corner of fabric. I guess the spool is lonely and want’s to socialise with the corner. However, I managed to finish the towels and they are ok. At least a loaf of bread inside one looks quite adorable.
Ps. I also sewed oven mitts but haven’t taken a picture of them just yet.
