Kitchen stuff must wait for it’s turn. I moved on to decorations. First up were globes.
I myself fancy globes because in my opinion it’s wonderful to see the whole earth exactly as it is right in front of my eyes. I also find it fun to look for all the countries I have visited during my 18-year-long lifetime. I actually have coloured all the places I’ve been to with silver marker on my own globe. I hope some day the whole globe is silver - excluding the seas obviously.
I began the project by googling “Globe template”, chose a couple nice ones and printed them in two different sizes. Only after printing and cutting the pictures I started looking for a base for the globes. I found a wooden pearl for the smaller one and a Styrofoam ball for the larger one. I then glued the papers on the bases and painted them. The smaller one, as you can see, I painted in a modern black and white style. The bigger one I painted to resemble a regular globe. I managed to use at least six different shades of acrylic paint for such a small ball. It also took hours to finish but luckily the outcome is quite cool. After painting I coated the globes twice with Fimo gloss varnish and gave them some holders.
Et voilà! C’est le monde ici
